FAQ’s
Individual Therapy
Each session is 50 minutes. Your first session will involve reviewing your intake information and discussing what the second session will look like. During the second session we will work collaboratively to develop a set of goals and a plan to achieve them.
The following sessions is where we will begin the real work. I hold a nonjudgmental and compassionate space for you to access what's beneath the surface that you might not be aware of yet.
The Process
The frequency and duration of therapy is dependent on your specific needs and flexibility. I have found that the more frequently we are able to meet, the more we can focus on deeper themes and less time is needed to spend catching up on content.
Working with me
As a therapist, I have three core values: transparency, compassion, and best practice.
I believe in always being honest and transparent with you. I will always be upfront about my recommendations and assessment of progress.
Therapy can bring up a lot of feelings that we didn’t know existed. You will always be met with compassion. My style in session is gentle, but I’m not afraid to be direct if I feel that it is in your best interest.
I will only practice within my scope and I take ethics very seriously. If I do not believe I can best serve you or if I feel you need a higher level of care, I will offer you a referral to an agency or provider that I know and trust. For instance, I am not an expert on eating disorders. If disordered eating becomes a focus, I will provide you with a referral.
Your treatment will be tailored to you. Therapy is not one size fits all and I will personalize your treatment to your unique needs. I believe in collaboration and a client-centered approach. You will lead the way. You are in control. Working with me, we will occupy a brave space together and figure out the blocks that stand in your way. I will help you master the tools you need to succeed!

Everything you tell me is confidential with a few exceptions: If I feel that you are an immediate danger to yourself or others, I can break confidentiality to keep you/others safe. If I hear about the abuse (or suspected abuse) of anyone under the age of 18, an elderly person, or someone with a disability, I am mandated to report it. If confidential information is subpoenaed in a court of law, I must comply with the subpoena and this would not happen without your prior knowledge.
